You would still need a BOV. A turbo won't live very long without one.

Ok, the next question is where does one find screamer pipes? I'd like to do some more research on this.
Sound's like someone is wanting to be a ricer, no ?
People person guys always get to poke more people.
I pretty much hate all humanity so occasions do not arise.
Um, can't I do some research on a product without being called a ricer? I guess you would consider that Skyline rice. I've never heard of the product or seen any for sale before, and I was just showing some interest. WTF, is the problem with doing some research? I never said I was going to buy one, damn.

Doing research on a product is not rice.. Screamer pipes (divorced or atmospheric wastegates) basically vent the pressure straight from the wastegate through an exhaust pipe. Theoretically, it will actually prolong the life of a turbo better than a BOV, particularly because they are more effective in dumping exhaust gasses directly into the open air (which relieves pressure on the turbo and piping). Screamer pipes do a good job at eliminating turbo lag too. They are generally used in higher powered applications. Many exotic cars have these, (check out a ferrari f40's exhaust, the third pipe is a screamer pipe).
From wiki- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wastegate
"A "divorced" wastegate dumps the gases directly into the atmosphere, instead of returning them with the rest of an engine's exhaust. This is done to prevent turbulence to the exhaust flow and reduce total back pressure in the exhaust system. Divorced wastegate dumper pipes are commonly referred to as "screamer pipes" due to the unmuffled waste exhaust gases and the associated loud noises they produce."
Another good article on release valves - http://www.torquecars.com/tuning/screamer-pipes.php
You will sound like a jet taking off - old ladies will jump children will cry and you will not make any friends!
Thanks for clearing that up. I was sure that screamer pipes and divorced wastegates were the same thing.
